Java Software Engineer

An exciting opportunity for a Java Software Engineer has arisen in Brussels for a fantastic company.

To apply for this role you will need the following Skills and Experience:

- Bachelor Degree with minimum 7 years of ICT experience in ICT or Secondary Education complemented by 12 years of professional practice in ICT
- Minimum 7 years in Analysis/development in Java and JEE environments, IDE/Programming Languages, Java and minimum 5 years in analysis/development in service oriented environments are needed
- Desired is 5 years' experience in Software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban or equivalent)and Standards UML or equivalent, Spring Framework (Spring, Spring MVC)
- As a Java Software developer a Minimum of 4 years' experience is needed in SOAP/REST/Web Service, Products/Tools Application Server (Tomcat/, WebLogic)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Protocols HTTPS, SSL & JSON & Maven
- Minimum 4 years in SQL, Eclipse (or equivalent), HTML5, JavaScript
- At least 2 out of the following: Sonar, Jenkins, Git, JUnit, Selenium, Activiti, EHCache, ActiveMQ, logback
- Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings (FR-EN). Fluent language skills in English and French, both written and spoken an advantage
- Desired are: Sun/Oracle Certified Java Programmer Certification

As a Java Software Engineer your tasks and responsibilities will include:

- Functional analysis of business requirements and business processes
- Functional analysis and definition of user requirements
- Technical analysis and specification of business processes, user requirements and applications
- Architecture of applications
- Design and development of applications, user interfaces, service and component models and their interfaces, Middleware components and relational databases
- A Java Software engineer will have Proofs of concept
- Implementation and customization of applications, databases and security defined for applications
- Definition of test strategies, design and test of applications
- Maintenance (corrective, adaptive and perfective) of applications
- Technical assessment of technologies and/or related products
- Functional and technical documentation and training
- Support of applications (2nd/3rd tier)
- Incident Management and Problem Management
- Reporting & Prototyping
