Java Sofrware Engineer

For our client we are looking for a JAVA SOFTWARE ENGINEER on a freelance basis

Project Start: ASAP

Project duration: 10 months

Location: Brussels

For in-house developed solutions, the client is looking for an experienced Java Software Engineer who is able to develop qualitative solutions based on business requirements related to a telecom web-based environment. This person will work within the Digital Architecture team accountable mainly for cross web, cross project development of micro services platform and the development of the CI/CD track for Back End and web Front End solutions.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Participate to the technical design of the solution based on business requirements gathered and analyzed by analyst and architect.

2) Participate to the technical design and development of the micro service architecture used at the company.

3) Participate to the project estimations.

4) Develop qualitative web-solutions related to Web solutions using Agile.

5) Act as an active member to ensure high code quality (clean code, unit testing, regression tests, ) delivered in time and within budget.

6) Document the delivered code/solution.

7) Perform development testing.

8) Participate to the implementation of the releases following the company change & management processes.

9) Provide support to the operation team in case of major incidents for which engineering knowledge is required.

10) Provide solutions (bug fixes ) for problem mgt.

EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE

1) University, or equivalent by experience, ideally Master in IT.

2) At least 3 years of experience with Java web-based development.

3) Profound knowledge of the Spring framework and Java ecosystem.

4) Experience with continuous integration and automated test & build tools.

5) Hands-on experience with Agile development principles & methodologies.

6) Following experiences are considered an asset:

* Experience in a telecom company.

* Netflix stack (Spring cloud, Hystrix, Zuul ).

* Cloud deployment (eg Openshift).

* Working knowledge of Scripting languages (Groovy, Shell ).

* Linux/Unix usage.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

1) Knowledge and user experience with the following:

* Eclipse/IntelliJ

* Git

* Sonar

* Hibernate/JPA

* REST/SOAP

* Maven/Nexus

* Jenkins

* Spring ( >= version 4)

2) Ability to develop and test qualitative source code based on functional requirements in an Agile working environment.

3) Strong skills in automation, continuous integration, unit testing and integration testing.
