Java/Rexx Developer with Strong Knowledge in Mathematics for Multinati

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A JAVA/REXX DEVELOPER WITH STRONG KNOWLEDGE IN MATHEMATICS FOR MULTINATIONAL CLIENT INTHE HAGUE

EXPECTED TASKS AND DELIVERABLES BY THE CONSULTANTS

- Design new algorithms to improve the metrics
- Improve existing algorithms to improve the metrics
- Implement (in Java) these algorithms as prototype
- Evaluate the effect of these prototypes, using an existing testing framework, on the metrics, hence determining the successful prototypes.
- Improve the testing framework
- Turn the prototypes that were evaluated as successful into operational programs ready for production taking into account software development cycles.
- Monitor the effectiveness of these programs in production verifying that the goal set in the deliverables part is achieved
- Further tune the programs according to their results obtained in production.
- Analyse any discrepancy between the predicted results via the testing framework and the results obtained in production. Improve the testing framework if needed.
- Document the tasks performed

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE

- University Degree and excellent knowledge of search engines principles in particular related to recall, precision and relevance ranking
- Excellent mathematical knowledge of Statistics and Probabilities
- At least 5 years of experience with software development life cycles
- At least 5 years of experience with Java programming (client side)
- Familiar with Rexx programming language.
- Familiar with EXCEL
- Fluent in English, German and/or French skills would be an advantage.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
- Being a strong team-player and having good inter-personal skills
- Having, nonetheless, the ability to work autonomously within the boundaries and objectives set out by the project manager.
- Willing to learn, proactive by nature
- Ability to analyse and manage problems within the team as well as with related teams
- Ability to manage change within the team as well as with related teams
- Ability to multi-task

EXPERIENCE WITH THE FOLLOWING WOULD BE AN ADVANTAGE:

- Knowledge in general about the Intellectual Properties organisations and more particularly its search engines (such as EPOQUE, ANSERA) and their clients.
