Java Programmer - Client Server

Individual will be the technical expert supporting the time and attendance system, Kronos, as well as other Java-based systems that support the Corporate Payroll function. This individual acts as liaison between the business and information systems, and leads/participates in the implementation of new systems and enhancements of existing systems to support business processes.

RESPONSIBILITY INCLUDE:

- Accountable to business for end-to-end system scoping and planning;
- Defines requirements by analysing business processes;
- Designs
- Tests business process solutions by creating and executing testing scenarios;
- Implements business process solutions by creating, delivering and training business users on new business processes;
- Ensures business processes are stable after a new system implementation (or change) by understanding the impact of the changes on the process;
- Post implementation support;
- Interfaces with Payroll Business Systems Analyst;
- Supports business users in the day-to-day operation;
- Coordinates activity for troubleshooting system related bugs and issues and follow up with the vendor as appropriate;
- Serves as technical expert for business related initiatives;
- Compliance with applicable Corporate Payroll and GTS policies and procedures.

SKILLS:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Strong technical skills in server-based environment;
- Strong SQL skills;
- Experience with the Java-based technologies (J2EE, JBoss);
- Strong DB skills, preferably Oracle 11G or higher
- Experience with report building using Business Objects or similar tools
- Experience with vendor developed packages (Kronos Workforce Central 6.0+ preferred)
- Experience with support and development of Java-based Systems
- Experience with multi-user, multi-server, multi-division systems
- Mainframe Cobol Programming Experience is a plus
