Java JEE Developer Engineer

For our international end client based in The Hague we are looking for a Java/JEE Developer:

Description:

To work on delivering Java enterprise applications within the scope of the ITR programme, the team is looking for a talented software engineer, with Java web application know-how to help us design and build the next generation of patent search tools.
It is essential that you have a good all-round knowledge of web application development with Java.

MAIN DELIVERABLES:

- Development of JEE projects (web-based solutions);
- Architecture analysis, design and documentation;
- Testing (unit, integration and regression tests);
- Object-oriented analysis and design;
- Technical documentation;
- Reporting to the technical team manager.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Excellent technical experience is mandatory within:
- Programming languages: Java (5+), Javascript, SQL;
- XML-related technologies: JAXB 2.x, XSD, XSL;
- Web technologies: DHTML, JSP 2.0, Servlets 2.4+, Ajax;
- Web services: JAX-WS and JAX-RS, good understanding of REST principles;
- Database Servers: DB2, MySQL;
- Building frameworks: Maven 2;
- Development Frameworks: Spring Framework 3+, including Spring MVC and Spring AOP; Hibernate 3+ and JPA;
- Server Technology: JBoss 4.x,Tomcat 6.x;
- Operating Systems: Unix/Linux (SLES 10), Win XP; knowledge of Bash and GNU/Linux command line;
- IDE and revision control: Eclipse 3+, SVN, CVS;

Knowledge and experience in the following technologies is of advantage:

- Lucene;
- SOLR and/or Elasticsearch;
- Security (SSO, CAS, Kerberos);
- image processing and implementation of OCR techniques;
- CouchDB;
- Hudson;
- Atlassian JIRA and Confluence;
- SOAP-UI and Apache JMeter;
- Ant and Nexus.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Ability to work in a multicultural environment;
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
