Java J2SE Developer (Multi-Threaded, low Latency, Trading)

JAVA J2SE SENIOR DEVELOPER (MULTI-THREADED, LOW LATENCY, TRADING OR INVESTMENT BANKING)

JAVA CORE DEVELOPER required to work in a modern, high-speed, multi-threaded, Java-based distributed system, built on Service Oriented Architecture and high-speed, low-latency proprietary Middleware. With experience working in either investment banking or similar, you will be able to provide highly robust and reproducible code role and you will be able to liaise with business stakeholders and analysts to gather and understand new requirements, designing and implementing new solutions as well as extending existing applications. You will take responsibility for 1 or more components and will be able to work independently while enjoying a collaborative environment.

ROLE PROFILE

- Expert multi-threaded, multi-tier distributed Java application developers.
- Responsible for development of the core Order Management System Middleware, external system connectivity, ancillary services and related automation components.
- Strong securities trading or investment banking knowledge is essential.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

- Advanced OOP in Java, UNIX (Linux), Relational DBs
- Highly experienced in developing Front Office trading applications
- Various libraries and tools: Tomcat, MQ, JMS, Hibernate, JAX, XML, SOAP, Apache Libraries and Commons, Utils, NIO, Java 1.5 and 1.6 Xtras, Concurrency API's

TASK & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The environment requires hands-on energetic programmers with the ability to provide technical and business expertise to the team and the wider programme. We require self starters that can understand business requirements, analyse and design pragmatic and effective solutions on strategic architecture and enable the wider team to deliver solutions through to production.

This is a long term project and only those prepared to COMMIT TO LIVING AND WORKING IN ZURICH will be considered.

THIS ROLE WILL NOT SUIT WEEKEND COMMUTERS.
