Java/J2EE Portal Designer

My client, a global outsourcing company, is looking for a Java/J2EE Portal Designer/Architect to join their team.

The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years relevant IT experience, have worked on the design and implementation phase of projects. Work with the project team to provide stable and operationally sound applications that meet the businesses requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide subject matter expertise and advice regarding application asset life cycle management, contribute to end-end incident recovery, problem resolution, service continuity management and asset integration points.
- Providing the value add solutions/services and architecture approaches to the client.
- Liaise with project team members (Business, Architecture, Security and Operations) to ensure strong relationships are maintained, and business, technology requirements and solutions are understood
- Review and recommend development techniques, strategies and vendor products, and make recommendations on the acquisition of advanced technology to ensure solutions meet the Technology and Business requirements
- Requirement gathering and validation, designing of Portal Applications using WebSphere Portals & JSR 168 & 286 Portals.
- Provide the recommendation to the customer in terms of process improvements and productivity improvements.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Working experience in J2EE, Portal Development and Portal Solutions.
- Experience in Banking Domain.
- Experience in Business Requirement Gathering, Requirement Analysis, and developing functional design document, providing the functional expert suggestions.
- In depth Architecture and design knowledge.
- Excellent client handling, team working and learning skills.
- Experience in developing the Test cases, test scripts to perform the Unit and SYS tests.
- In depth Architecture knowledge in ESB, EAI and integration areas.

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

- Spring
- Java/J2EE
- Java portal (ideal WebSphere portal)
- Experienced in WebService interfacing consumer (JAX-WS)
- Portal based J2EE design
- MQ, DB2 & Unix - nice to have
