JAVA/HADOOP DEVELOPER - BIG DATA START-UP

Clean coding Agile Java Developer and software craftsman required for disruptive research start-up based in Central London.

The successful Java Developer will bring demonstrable experience of working on highly scalable web applications in high volume web environments.

The Java Developer will form part of an award winning development team working on a world-class, and truly next-gen, tech stack focussed around the principles of big data, artificial intelligence and data analytics using Hadoop, Storm, Elasticsearch, MongoDB and AWS.

The Java Developer will be dealing with terabytes of data on a daily basis and contributing to a series of high profile projects within the business, including a highly sophisticated search and recommendation engine and a complete re-write of the Back End of their flagship product.

Skills required:

- Java
- Distributed systems
- Hadoop
- NoSQL (at least one of: MongoDB, Cassandra, Voldemort, CouchDB, HBase, Couchbase, Redis)
- Agile, XP, TDD

Nice-to-have:
