Our client, an international Amsterdam based not-for-profit organisation requires a new Engineer to join the team. The engineer is required provide experience and technical expertise relating to the programming and development of their in house Global information Infrastructure. The Platform is based on Hadoop, HBASE and JAVA technologies and it's absolutely essential that candidates are experienced and technically proficient working in this type of environment.

The Key accountabilities for the Engineer will be to heavily contribute to the development of the Global Information Infrastructure, Provide support, administration, maintenance to the businesses UNIX systems and be able to work comfortably within an agile environment.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

- 4+ Years of Software development experience.
- Java Development (Spring Framework).
- Hands on experience of NOSQL Storage environments.
- Solid understanding of HBASE & Hadoop storage platforms.
- Experience of IP Network technology in a Unix environment.

DESIRABLE SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experienced using system management tools such as CFengine, Splunk or Nagios.
- DNS/BGB IP knowledge and experience.
- Experience working in an Agile environments (Scrum)

As the role is based in Amsterdam candidates from outside the Netherlands will be offered a relocation package and help getting settled in. There is 30 holidays offered for the duration of the contract plus all bank holidays off fully paid.
