Java Development Team Lead Having recently received a substantial round of funding, the business has ambitious growth plans for their location-based gaming platform. To lead development for the business, a Java Development Team Lead is required for a hands-on role with this ambitious team. Essential Team Leader experience required. Joining this innovative software provider operating within the lottery market, the Java Development Team Lead will need to be highly intelligent, logical and passionate about delivering something alternative to the gaming marketplace. The Java Development Team Lead will take a 50:50 approach to the role, leading and mentoring the team whilst actively contributing to the advancements of web applications. Responsibilities as a Java Development Team Lead will include: * Line managing a small team of developers through the design and development of consumer facing web applications * Taking a hands-on approach the development of clean, robust and unit-tested code * Working to tight deadlines, producing Java and AJAX code for new and existing feature enhancements * Liaising with the CTO and Product Managers to ensure business requirements are met Core requirements include: * Demonstrable experience in leading development teams in Agile environments * An extensive background in Java development, with a focus on delivering high traffic applications * Educated to degree level, minimum 2:1 in computer science or similar from a leading university * 3 or more A Levels at grade A - including maths * Experience in SME businesses * A solid understanding of relational databases and Java frameworks such as Hibernate and Spring Candidates who can demonstrate experience with Selenium, PostgreSQL, Apache Wicket or Google or Bing API are of high interest however this is not essential.
