Java Development Engineer

Software Engineer will build and enhance key modules of the mission critical Fraud Management systems. This position will require design and development of various features to enhance the fraud detection capabilities of the clients product line leveraging Java, JEE and other open source technologies while working in an agile collaborative team.

As a key member of the development team, the candidate will need to communicate technical ideas clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Gather and analyze requirements from product owners
- Design and develop highly scalable and fault-tolerant systems using Java, JEE and open source technologies following coding guidelines and standards
- Collaborate with the team in an agile environment
- Foster development best practices within the team

REQUIREMENTS:

- BS in Computer Science or related degree from an accredited university
- 4+ years of experience designing and developing complex Java and JEE applications
- Experience with Front End technologies such as Struts, JSP, AJAX, JavaScript and JQuery
- Experience with Back End technologies such as JDBC, Web Services and JMS
- Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
- At least 1 year of experience with Agile methodologies/SCRUM
- Experience in creating automated unit testing using JUnit and practicing TDD

PREFERRED:

- Experience with Fraud Management, Payment and/or Credit Card processing a big plus
- Working knowledge of Hadoop and familiarity with bid data
- Expert in OO design and design patterns
- Strong troubleshooting skills, especially in a production setting
- Experience with build environment using Maven/Ant and CI tools
- Strong UNIX/Linux background
