Java Developer with Scala Experience

We are currently searching for a Java developer to work in Amsterdam, The Netherlands for 3 months plus extensions. This is a fantastic contract opportunity for a large multi-national client.

The ideal candidate must have the following skills: Java and Scala

We are looking for a senior Java developer to help the clients technology team with transitioning from their old platform to the new one and pick up other technical tasks. As part of your work you will be extending the services and front ends of the website in order to provide a more structually platform.

The clients platform is built upon JVM based solutions, as a result we expect you to be fully conversant in Java, a basic knowledge of Scala is a must. The client works with a lot of frameworks and technologies, some of which are:

Thrift,
Camel,
Spring and SpringMVC,
jsps,
scalatra,
yammer metrics,
junit,
scalatest,
selenium.

You will be expected to be able to work with these technologies comfortably. At the client we run our services in a multi data center setup, so it is important that you know how to build software that can scale and run in a distributed environment.
