Java Developer (Server Side) Position in Brussels

For our Pan-European client in Brussels, we are looking for a JAVA DEVELOPER (SERVER SIDE) to work on a long-term contract starting in the Autumn.

We are looking to hire a software engineer prepared to get involved in middle tier software, Portal application and B2B services.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND EXPECTED ACTIVITIES:

- Maintenance and evolution of the Portal and B2B applications and test frameworks
- Design/code reviews
- Software development activities for the Portal B2B services 
- Bug fixing activities 
- Participate to the analysis design of the changes
- Prototyping of new architecture or features
- Development and maintenance of unit test frameworks, unit tests for the software components and software frameworks

DESIRED PROFILE:

- Experience in Object Oriented Analysis, design and programming
- Extensive Java knowledge
- Extensive knowledge about Web technologies
- Experience in design and development of optimised Java code, performance tuning, multithreaded application and memory management
- Very good modelling skills 
- Experience in Application Server BEA Weblogic or similar
- Experience with open source tools based on Java, Web 2.0 technologies and IDE such as Eclipse
- Experience with code generation from formal models 
- Experience in the mission critical application development
