An opportunity to work for a leading, global investment bank within its securities team. The company are calling for a software developer with an outstanding record of client delivery. The team provides first-class client services to its external clients, providing a range of services including stock lending, risk management, securities custody, and execution services.

Within the securities division one team is responsible for developing and maintaining the prime brokerage and futures suite of applications: covering a huge range of areas depending on clients needs. The developer undertaking this role will be given the unique opportunity to contribute directly to this leading organisation's success - allowing huge opportunities for long term career growth. You will also be enamoured with chances to build technical, business and leadership skills.

This is an amazing opportunity to really build on existing experiences, and work in a challenging position. You will be presented with different responsibilities such as new development, maintaining current code, bug-fixing, requirement gathering and analysis, and support. It is a really varied role where you can build expertise in the development of distributed, service-oriented and event-driven applications in a heterogeneous environment. You will have the chance to gain a fantastic insight into Prime Brokerage flows across equity, fixed income and derivatives.

This position calls for an exceptional candidate and you must have:
- solid hands on Java Development experience
- Familiarity with OO programming concepts and design patterns
- Relational database experience such as in Sybase ASE, IQ or IBM UDB.
- Have SQL query language experience
- A working knowledge of UNIX
- You must also importantly demonstrate an excellent track record of working in a client oriented role - and delivering on these projects. Experience working in a consultancy is a definite plus.
- Additionally, strong analytical and problem solving skills - compiled with evidence of team working abilities are necessary. Notably, this position will involve operating on a global scale - so you should feel comfortable working with teams both locally and globally.
- A candidate that can demonstrate knowledge or experience of financial markets will be in an advantageous position.
- At least a Tier 1 Visa/EU/UK citizenship
