Description Java developer:
You'll be part of the connectivity team which works on connecting company flagship application (ORBIS) to other systems within a hospital environment.
ORBIS is a Hospital Information System (HIS) - a system managing all aspects of a hospital, ranging from medical to financial and administrative.
An important role of a HIS system is to communicate with other systems, both within the hospital as outside. Typical systems include HIS, Laboratory- and Radiology Information Systems, but also include synchronization for government-related purposes.
As a connectivity team, we supply this functionality. We're working on a large array of domains, such as patient data, medication, pharmacy, scheduling and master data. Each domain comes with its own set of challenges.
Responsibilities Java developer:
You'll be doing development to synchronize data within the aforementioned domains.
We work with international communication standards such as IHE, HL7 and FHIR.
You'll be working in an agile environment in Ghent, in collaboration with R&D teams located in Trier and Bordeaux.
Main duties Java developer:
- Development of code to import and export data using international standards such as HL7, FHIR, REST and SOAP.
- Quality is key - you're working on patient-related data. Sonar metrics, unit test-coverage and code review are part of development to ensure high to ensure quality.
- Embrace the agile software development methodology - deliver working software after each 2-week development cycle
- Work closely with the verification engineers within the team to guarantee proper integration tests
- Work together with different R&D teams in a co-located environment
Technical skills Java developer:
- Capable of handling a large, complicated code base
- Experience with Java development, Maven, JUnit
- Proven capability to get acquainted easily with a complex domain
- Specific technical skills: Java 8, JEE7, Hibernate, REST, Wildfly, Oracle SQL, JUnit, Mockito, SVN, Jenkins
- Knowledge of interoperability standards (IHE, HL7, FHIR) is a plus
- Experience with the Wildfly dependency- and classloading management is a plus
Personal skills Java developer:
- Comfortable expressing yourself within the team
- Not afraid to discuss architectural proposals during our regular development meetings
- Fluent in English. knowledge of French is a plus
