Hatstand, a global financial technology consultancy, is seeking a Java Developer within the Equities trading business.

A major investment bank has an opportunity for a Java Developer to join their equity technology division in a full lifecycle role. The client is seeing a considerable increase of trading volumes in the European cash equities and business and to manage the increasing volumes a new project has been given the green light which aims to re-engineer a number of market adapters and the order execution functionality underpinning them.

This role is best suited to a Java Developer with in depth experience of high performance, low latency trading systems development within the investment banking sector, preferably within a cash equities business. You will join in a full lifecycle role where you will interact with the business as part of a highly skilled team.

You will have very strong core Java coding skills and be keen to challenge yourself with complex message intensive, high volume systems architecture. You will have excellent low level computing and networking concepts knowledge (Multicast, TCP/IP, NIO) and very strong conceptual programming knowledge covering data structures and multithreading). You will be have an in depth understanding of software performance and be expert in resolving performance issues on live trading systems in a timely manner.

This is an existing platform and not a 'green field' role, but it will afford the successful individual extensive exposure to server side development and performance tuning of a state of the art cash equities trading platform.
