Java Developer (Multiple Openings)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The selected candidate will possess a background in the development of Java for a wide variety of applications. Solid hands-on development experience with UNIX, Java/J2EE, Oracle RDBMS, SQL, and PL/SQL. Previous experience with PowerCenter/Informatica a significant plus.

- Design and develop Java application modules that are used to provide integration with an Oracle benefits product.
- Develop effective test cases for services and integrated tools.
- Provide production support for Java-based batch applications in a world-wide investment environment.
- Document designs, development plans, and provide status reporting on individual work assignments.
- Work with teammates/peers in remote onshore locations.
- Travel may be required to remote offices and project sites.

THE QUALIFIED CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Perform hands on requirements gathering.
- Perform all levels of work when required in addition to high level, customer facing work through the project life cycle.
- Build and maintain project data models using CASE technology, maintain database dictionary or metadata catalog, standards and procedures.

THE QUALIFIED CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING TECHNICAL SKILLS:

- 4 - 6 years of broad development experience using Java, JDBC, Oracle RDBMS, SQL programming, and SQL stored procedures. Platforms can be Solaris, AIX, and NT.
- Has full-life cycle experience, capable defining/delivering multiple projects within Business Units.
- Must show technical background of database architecture, and ability to apply company's best practices.
- Must show presentation, analytical, diagnostic and creative problem solving skills.
- Must demonstrate ability to communicate at a business function level with IS personnel, customers and management.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

EDUCATION

- B.S. in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Management.
- 4 - 6 years of progressive experience with data management and integration of systems.
