Java Developer - Low Latency - Equities - Banking - New York

A major investment bank has an opportunity for a Java Developer to join their Equities technology division in a full life cycle role. The client is seeing a considerable increase of trading volumes in the Equities business and to manage the increasing volumes a new project has been given the green light which aims to re-engineer a number of market adaptors and the order execution functionality underpinning them.

This role is best suited to a Java Developer with in-depth experience of Multithreading and low latency systems development within the investment banking sector. You will join a highly skilled team with a strong technical bias towards core Java who are experienced in developing software for low latency, high throughput systems. They are looking for a talented software engineer with a solution driven approach and the experience of overcoming development challenges on high performance trading systems that utilise a myriad of market adapters and the FIX protocol.

You will have very strong core Java coding skills and be keen to challenge yourself with complex message intensive, high volume systems architecture. Other essential skills include Spring framework, Oracle PL/SQL, XML based GUI frameworks, Unix and TCP/IP. You will have sound understanding of coding using the FIX protocol and experience of high performance trading systems development. You will also have excellent communication skills and some experience of working to an Agile methodology. Ideal additional skills cover Middleware products - TIBCO, JMS
