Our client is a market leader in the field of IT Operation Analytics. Primarily servicing the banking and finance sector they are now looking to enlist the services of an experienced Java Developer.

PERSON:

We are looking for a seasoned Java developer who has extensive experience in a range of Java technologies (listed below). Parts of this role will be client facing so successful candidates must be smart, literate and capable. Ideally if you have experience delivering through a consultancy/IT service provider then this type of approach and understanding would be useful, but not critical. Ultimately it is the skills and overall approach that are most important. You should have the ability to think on your feet and place the client at the heart of the solution. We are looking for a resourceful problem solver who can adapt their approach and deliver excellent solutions.

ROLE:

The main purpose of this role is to develop new and extend existing Java EE based components of their Enterprise Software Solution. This ranges from in-house development of planned components and functionality, to API's for integration with client systems on site.

JOB DUTIES:

- Maintain and extend existing JavaEE/JPA based application framework.
- Participate in design of new application modules, envisioning features, functionality and implementation strategies.
- Understand customer requirements and translate them into product architecture components.
- Implement classes and interfaces based on the existing product architecture using MVC and ORM principles.
- Integrate customer systems by developing suitable interfaces for data import/export.
- Use expertise and industry knowledge to research and introduce new technologies.
- Produce and maintain documentation.
- Communicate clearly and regularly with team members.
- Maintain awareness of priorities and contribute to the firm's purpose with a sense of urgency.
- Proactively enhance the organisation by taking ownership for new tasks but also deliver results in collaboration with other team members.
