Java Developer Job

SENIOR JAVA DEVELOPER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Wilmington, DE.

The Big Picture - Top Skills You Should Possess:

- Java/J2EE development
- RESTful or SOAP experience
- XML or JSON experience

What You'll Be Doing:

- Work as part of a dynamic team throughout the software development life cycle
- Collaborate with designers and analysts to implement enhancements or new applications
- Develop code to meet story acceptance criteria
- Conduct design and code review to ensure compliance with standards
- Estimate level of effort to develop code to meet acceptance criteria
- Ensure adherence to continuous improvement practices as required to meet quality/time to market imperatives
- Maintain records to document program development and revisions
- Provide 3rd level support of software solution as needed
- Share best practices and improve processes within and across sprint teams, and mentor more junior developers
- Converts specifications about business problems into programming instructions.
- Conducts analysis of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of application systems.
- Designs and codes programs; creates test transactions and runs tests; revises as necessary.
- Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems, including encoding, testing, debugging and installing for a large-scale system.
- Monitors operating efficiency of existing application systems

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

- Bachelor's degree or military experience
- At least eight (8) years of hands-on Java/J2EE development experience
- At least two (2) years of hands-on experience building new web services utilizing RESTful or SOAP and XML or JSON
- At least two (2) years' experience developing APIs or core Middleware development
- Excellent communication skills

Bonus Points! Otherwise Known As Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related degree
- Five (5) or more years of RDBMS experience (ie: Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)
- Experience writing test cases utilizing JUnit
- Java certified programmer or developer and/or related certifications
- Experience with Java 6, Spring, SpringMVC, Ajax, SQL, OOD, API design, Eclipse, Weblogic, Tomcat and/or JMS
- Experience with Ant, Maven, Hudson or other continuous integration tools
- Agile experience
- Experience leading small teams
