My client is urgently looking for a Java developer for a 3 months rolling contract based in Donegal. Rates on offer are up to 425 per day.

KEY SKILLS:

- 5+ years software engineering/design experience or equivalent experience in an IT capacity
- Skilled in Java, J2EE, JSP, EJB, JavaScript, Oracle, XML, SQL
- Previous experience in carrying out data migration on high value systems
- It would be most desirable to have skills in web Servers, Unix, WebLogic and Spring

KNOWLEDGE:

- Reasonably thorough understanding of industry drivers
- Ability to communicate effectively to multiple stakeholders, including, but not limited to Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Technical Architects
- Recognised expert in database systems and data migration
- Detailed familiarity with software development methodologies
- Proven senior Java developer/architect experience, ideally with some leadership experience
- Systems Design/Requirements Specification
- Java in UNIX and Windows environments
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexible in approach to priorities and workloads, whilst working within timescales and dealing with conflicting issues
- Willing to own and control tasks from inception to completion

- Evaluates and recommends new technologies
- Resolves complex problems through root cause analysis and initiates measures to prevent future occurrences

- Capable of architecting a reasonably complex module with limited supervision
- Integrates a broad array of technical concepts into pragmatic solutions
