Java Developer for Asset Management firm - Purchase, NY 130k

My client, a global asset management firm based in Purchase, New York, is in need of an expert java / SQL developer to join their elite IT team. The candidate will join the team responsible for IT development and support for the private equity business area of a global asset management firm. Time will be spent on a mix of new technology initiatives, as well as making changes and providing support for existing applications. The candidate will primarily develop and maintain Java-based applications and work with databases (SQL Server), but may work on .Net-based applications (VB/C#) in the future. The candidate will work directly with the database - SQL experience is a must. Personal Requirements - 4-6 years Core Java development and database concepts / SQL - Sound understanding of .Net application development and XML - Experience working with SQL Server, in particular SSRS and SSIS - Strong written and oral communication skills - Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team - Working experience in finance required- private equity strongly preferred - Experience with Investran, Talend and Intralinks a plus The senior members of the team have extensive backgrounds in application architecture, development and database design, as well as strong knowledge of the private equity business and fund accounting.
