JAVA DEVELOPER - FINANCE

High calibre Java Developer required for one of the world's largest information providers. The Java Developer will be a Server Side expert with strong knowledge of Spring MVC, REST and high-volume, highly scalable web applications. The successful Java Developer will live and breathe the DRY and KISS principles and believe that code can and should be beautiful.

The Java Developer will be the driving force within a highly Agile team of fellow world-class Java Developers following methodologies like TDD, BDD and eXtreme Programming in order to deliver a market-leading platform relied on by a global user base.

The Java Developer will be working on a highly available, distributed, Real Time system and playing an instrumental role in the development of a global, multi-year strategic initiative to provide a holistic single view of all client data. The Java Developer will also have a large say in the technical architecture and hands on development for this organisation's flagship project.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

- J2EE
- Multiple components of Spring - MVC, Security, Batch, Integration, IOC
- RESTful web services
- Knowledge of testing frameworks/mocking - Selenium, jUnit, Cucumber, Gherkin
- Knowledge of Agile development, ideally with exposure to TDD/BDD/XP

NICE-TO-HAVES

- Knowledge of NoSQL
- Knowledge of Joshua Bloch and Martin Fowler
- Knowledge of data structures, design patterns, algorithms
- Knowledge of Gradle
- Open source contributions
