Java Developer- Contract- West Midlands- £300 / £350

Java / J2EE Software Engineer s required by my West Midlands based client who specialise in developing gaming software. They are looking for someont to join their company on an initial 6 month contract.

Type: 6 Months + Contract

Rate: £300 - £350 per day

Location: West Mids

Start Date: ASAP

As a Java software engineer you will be reporting in to the Technical Lead of the project and will be required to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment with shifting priorities.

You will be required to work on an initial six month contract and could even turn in to a permanent opportunity down the line if you are interested.

Essential Skills:

-Core Java from 1.3 up to and including Java 6.
-Java Swing Multithreaded graphics, and Testing withMarathon(Jython scripts)
-OpenSource tools, JUnit, Ant, Spring, Struts and Hibernate JPA
-SCM, SVN, Maven, Hudson/Jenkins, Sonar
-JavaScript,Ajax, prototype, JQuery, Object Oriented JavaScript, Scriptaculous
-Visual Basic 4 to 6 pro. Windows, Linux (inc shell scripting) and Solaris
-Oracle 8,9i,10g and 11g, including GIS Spatial extensions and linking to Hibernate

Desirables:

-MySQL 5.4 and 5.5
- Progress, PostgreSQL
- SyBase (distributed replication)
