Java Developer - Brussels

JAVA DEVELOPER - BRUSSELS

Our Client is seeking an Application Developer in a long-term, permanent contract position, based in Brussels, Belgium. This is an urgent requirement, paying €250 EUR per day. You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of software applications in delivering digital business solutions. Java, JEE, Spring and Hibernate programming experience are mandatory requirements to apply for this role.

This position is based in Brussels, but there may be the odd requirement to work in Luxembourg if required on a case by case basis.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Minimum 4 years of programming experience in Java and JEE
- Minimum 2 years of programming experience with Spring and Hibernate
- In depth knowledge of Java programming language and core Java concepts
- In depth knowledge of Java EE technologies, especially JPA(2.x), JMS, web services, JAX-WS, JSP and Servlets, Applets and Swing;
- In depth knowledge of Spring (3.x) and Hibernate
- Good knowledge of JavaScript and experience with a JavaScript framework
- Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, JQuery, Ajax and XML/XSL/XSLT; knowledge of HTML5 is a plus
- Good knowledge of Oracle Weblogic Application Server; knowledge of JBoss is a plus
- Good knowledge of SQL and Oracle relational databases; knowledge of MySQL is a plus
- Knowledge of UML
- Knowledge of encryption concepts
- Knowledge of Atlassian Jira, Bamboo, Apache Subversion, Maven, Eclipse/IntelliJ IDEA
- Familiar with RUP and/or SCRUM methodologies
- Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application development
- Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, ease of communication

LANGUAGES

- Good command of English language is essential
- Knowledge of French is an advantage
