Java Developer (Brussel)

Je functie: Our customer is one of the world leaders in providing international communication connectivity and services (Voice, SMS, Capacity).
You will be part of an entrepreneurial team within the company chich mission is to develop a new product portfolio which will allow our company to enter in new types of markets.
Customers we interact with are Facebook, Google, Viber, … and we work in an agile mode to deliver top-notch products.

Our customer is looking for a SOFTWARE DEVELOPER (Java).
The developer will be working in a small team, participating in the analysis, design, development and deployment of multiple products.
We're looking for someone who has a good grasp of general software development concepts (Object oriented design, patterns, classic algorithms and data structures, etc) with a main focus on Java, but is also flexible and willing to do other things.
Je profiel: Required technical skills:
- Good knowledge of general software development concepts
- Good knowledge of Java and the Java ecosystem
- Good knowledge of database technology (SQL as well as NoSQL)
- Knowledge of web technology (html, css, javascript)
- Knowledge of webservices (soap and rest, jax-rs, jaxb, etc)
- Ability or willingness to use other languages or platforms (groovy, bash scripting, …)
- Basic unix skills

Required soft-skills:
- Ability to function in a highly-dynamic environment (with often-changing requirements and priorities)
- Ability to mingle in a discussion (technical and functional)
- Ability to come up with solutions to problems
- Ability to quickly grasp existing solutions (delve into code)
- Proactive and solution-minded

Definitely a plus:
- Knowledge of dev-ops
- Experience with maintaining (or even setting up) a fully automated build pipeline
- Knowledge of telecom
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology
