Java Developer - Bigdata, Nosql, Agile, TDD/BDD, Devops - London - CON

An opportunity for a highly experience engineer to work in a cross functional team of professionals, on cutting edge BigData and NoSQL technologies, following strong Agile and DevOps processes, on high profile public facing applications.

We're looking for a highly experienced Java Developer with a passion for technology and process. Any experience with BigData technologies would be helpful as you'll be working in a Hadoop ecosystem with technologies such as Map Reduce, Hive, Oozie, Falcon, Kafka, Flume. You will also be working with NoSQL databases (mainly Cassandra), cloud technologies (AWS), and some Scala as well as Java.

The environment is a highly collaborative Agile (XP, KanBan, Lean, TDD/BDD, Continuous Integration) environment, with a strong appreciation for DevOps, Automation and Continuous Deployment.

KEY SKILLS:

- Extensive Java Development experience, some Scala as well ideally
- NoSQL Databases (Cassandra ideally, or MongoDB, DynamoDB, MariaDB)
- Cloud based development/deployment (AWS)
- RESTful Web Services, API development
- Some BigData knowledge - Hadoop ecosystem, Map Reduce, Hive, Oozie, Kafka
- Exceptional TDD/BDD
- Agile - Scrum, KanBan, eXtreme Programming, Pair Programming, Lean, Continuous Integration etc
- DevOps, Continuous Deployment
- Excellent communication skills
