JAVA Developer - Amsterdam - 6 Month Contract

For my client in Amsterdam I am currently seeking an experienced Java consultant for a new assignment in Amsterdam.

BACKGROUND:

This position is in a 8 person strong DevOps team that develops and operates a web-application in the payments-domain. This is a Java/JEE WebSphere application developed by a DevOps team that applies Agile, Scrum and Continuous Delivery. The team has a strong focus on craftsmanship, software quality and innovation.

CHARACTERISTICS:

The candidate is familiar with current Java and JEE related technologies and is intrinsically motivated to stay up to date on new technologies, trends and market development. The candidate pro-actively initiates improvements and innovations to the team, has a mature attitude regarding software quality & craftsmanship and is fluent in English. Preferably the candidate has experience as speaker at congresses or as a trainer.

SKILLS:

- Familiar with developing Java/JEE web-applications:
- JEE (5&6) Application Servers (eg WebSphere or Tomcat).
- Web-application security.
- Popular frameworks: (eg Spring-MVC or Jersey)
- Dependency injection (eg Spring DI, Guice, Pico or JEE6)
- Open-source test-tooling: (eg jUnit, TestNG, Cucumber)
- Mocking frameworks (eg PowerMock, Mockito)
- CD principles and tooling (Jenkins, Sonar, auto-deployment)
- Code quality (Sonar, PMD, Checkstyle, Findbugs)
