Java Developer - Agile - MVC - Restful - Clojure

JAVA DEVELOPER - AGILE - MVC - RESTFUL - CLOJURE

Java Developer required with exposure to web and service-oriented architectures with knowledge of functional languages, preferably Clojure. The successful applicant will work within a complex development environment including Clojure and Java to deliver successful client projects and enhancements, to perform the maintenance and modification of programs currently in production, and to code new applications from predefined program specifications. Solid functional language experience is a must for this role.

This is a key role working for a global commerce service provider responsible for the delivery and support of a high profile eCommerce application which requires someone of excellent technical ability looking to make their mark in a diverse and expanding team. Good communication and interpersonal skills are also essential.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
MANDATORY EXPERIENCE:

- Full project life cycle experience in delivering complex, high volume applications preferably Internet based
- Solid MVC web skills with Java, 18 months+
- Test-driven Development
- Strong functional programming skills
- Experience of designing, developing and integrating with RESTful Web Services
- Experience of working in an Agile (Scrum) and Devops environment
- Good SQL skills, preferably with MySQL
- Experience developing on Unix-based systems

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

- Experience of Clojure would be an advantage
- Working knowledge of MongoDB would be beneficial
- Experience within a J2EE development is welcomed
- Previous experience of E-commerce solutions highly desired
- Experience of Web technologies such as Javascript (with KnockoutJS or similar framework), CSS, HTML, XHTML
