Java Developer

Proteus Europe is searching for a Java Developer for our client based in Brussels, Belgium

Your New role:-

Nature of tasks

- Architecture and design of information systems.
- Review of the architecture of existing systems
- Design and development of component architecture and building blocks
- Analysis of the integration of different information systems
- Coordination and implementation of the technical architecture
- Design and development of Java software solutions
- Technical interface between the project leaders and the developers
- Production of software architecture documents
- Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users
- Assistance in the testing, the technical documentation, the deployment, the evaluation and the reporting

Knowledge and skills

- In depth knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture
- In depth knowledge of applications design
- Good knowledge of Object Oriented Programming languages
- Good knowledge of Enterprise Architecture and modelling tools (eg Enterprise

Architect)
- Good knowledge of Relational DBMS
- Good knowledge of business process analysis
- Excellent knowledge of interoperability technology (eg web services, message oriented Middleware, service oriented bus)
- Good redaction skills.
- Ability to give technical presentations.
- Ability to apply high quality standards
- Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application architecture and design
- Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, good communication skills.
- Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self- starting capability and experience in working in team.

Education and experience

- Minimum 15 years of relevant studies and experience after the secondary school
- Minimum 6 years of IT professional experience
- Minimum 6 years' experience in development of information systems with Java
- Minimum 2 years' experience with UML or Case Tools
- Good experience with relational databases
- Good experience in web technologies

Specific expertise

- Minimum 6 years' experience in architecture and design of information systems
- Minimum 6 years in Java (both with J2SE and J2EE) with extensive use of design patterns;
- Minimum 4 years in Apache Maven;
- Minimum 2 years in Aspect-Oriented Programming (AOP);
- Minimum 2 years in Testing Frameworks (JUnit, DbUnit, Spock, ...);
- Minimum 2 years in the Spring Web model-view-controller (MVC) framework;
- Minimum 2 years in other web Application frameworks (eg ZK, Spring)
- Minimum 2 years in development of web services and/or other solutions for interoperability of information systems.
- Minimum 2 years experience with GITHUB and open source solutions;
- Minimum 2 years experience with JIRA and GIT

- Ability to work in a team
- Ability to analyse complex documents
- Ability to follow and interpret Internal procedures and standards
- Ability to work with imposed deadlines
- Ability t- work independently on specific tasks while at the same time functioning as a member of a project team.

Proximity Time and Means orders (PTM) are executed at the Service Provider's premises (or agreed premises) located in the proximity of the location of delivery (ie less than 2 hours to reach the Commission's offices).

Equipment and Internet access has to be provided by the Service Provider.

- Enterprise Architect as modelling tool
- SVN and GIT for version control (access to Commission instance can be given to contractors working in proximity service)
- Jira for issue tracking (access to Commission instance can be given to contractors working in proximity service)
