Java Developer

Our client in the Philadelphia area is looking for a Java Middleware Developer for a 6-12+ month contract. This is with an extremely well-known organization and has a chance of converting to a permanent position down the line. CANDIDATES MUST BE ABLE TO CONSIDER CONVERTING TO A PERMANENT POSITION.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

- Develop Java Middleware services supporting web and mobile within an agile methodology
- Design, govern and develop the reusable service repository, design patterns and reusable technical components (eg Web Services and SOA components, data transformations, error handling, auditing, logging etc.).
- Deliver SDLC artifacts (ie: design and technical specifications)
- Circulate coding best practices, modular framework(s), development patterns and component-based SOA solutions.
- Assist in troubleshooting mission-critical issues.
- Collaborate with the development team(s) and technology leaders regularly.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Core Java Development experience developing distributed, scalable enterprise-class applications a must
- Experience working within an agile methodology.
- Experience with the following which work alongside Java Development:
- Building RESTful/SOAP services with Java stack
- RDMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle) and related design patterns
- Experience developing enterprise level B2C web applications integrations supporting E-commerce.
- Objected Oriented design/development experience and a solid grasp of Client Server architecture.
- Experience with GIT or ALM tools.
