Java Developer

Synergy Consulting Group is looking for a Java Developer for a six month contract position with a Fortune 500 company in the Pittsburgh area.

In this position, you will be responsible for writing programs to maintain and control computer systems software for operating systems, networked systems, and database systems. Also, you are responsible for creating the software platform, and then fine-tuning the final program after it has been made.
This position pays between $30 - $35 per hour, depending on experience and skill set.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance.

Design and develop software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.

Consult with engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develop specifications and performance requirements and resolve customer problems.

Advise customer about, or perform, maintenance of software system

QUALIFICATIONS:

-

High School Degree and Bachelors degree in computer science/relevant field or equivalent work experience required.3 to 6 years experience required

Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Object Oriented Programming
-

J2EE/Java/JSP/AJAX Applciation Development
-

HTML5, CSS and jQuery
-

Experience building database driven web applications a major plus

Experienced with Eclipse IDE development environment

Must have experience and an understanding of how to implement applications using Model View and Controller (MVC) utilizing the Struts framework, and must have a working knowledge of the Hibernate technology for persistence management.

The candidate must also be able to demonstrate competence with UML (Use case diagrams, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams and class diagrams) along with having working knowledge of both Waterfall and AGILE software development life cycle approaches.
