Java Developer
Our client require a Java Developer to join their team in Dublin, on an initial 3 month contract.
As Java Developer you will be strong working with Java/J2EE, Spring and Hibernate.
The successful Java Developer will be passionate about technology, have demonstrable technical and problem solving skills and a positive, results driven attitude.
You will have the aptitude and willingness to learn quickly and work with a wide range of technologies, including those unfamiliar to you.
Role Details
* Designing software that satisfies requirements, both business and architectural
* Implementing Java software to an agreed design
* Testing Java software to ensure a high degree of quality
* Maintaining Java software (implementing changes in accordance with new or amended requirements)
* Providing advice and troubleshooting support to the clients front-line Support Teams
Essential Experience
* In depth knowledge of Core Java 7
* In depth knowledge of OO design patterns, Multithreading, asynchronous paradigms and distributed systems design
* Demonstrable experience of working on highly-transactional high-throughput scalable, highly available systems
* Messaging technologies
* Various Client Server protocols: SOAP, RMI, XML/RPC, REST -
* Experience with Oracle Databases, and Spring
* Application of Agile or Lean methodologies to improve efficiency and quality in software delivery
* Good understanding of software architecture; understanding component and application breakdown and interaction
* Experience of source code control across multiple work streams
Ideally you will also have experience working on mobile platforms or Android development within Java (this is a desirable, not essential).
