JOB: Java Developer

LOCATION: Amsterdam

CONTRACT: 3 months plus extension

I am currently recruiting for a Java Development contract based in Amsterdam, Netherlands for an immediate start. You should have frameworks knowledge and be able to start a contract immediately. A good day-rate is on offer and the likelihood of extension is very strong.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Strong Knowledge of:
- Solid understanding of Java, and Design Patterns.
- Experience with Unix based systems.
- Experience with web services development and usage and XML formats.
- Strong database knowledge (Oracle and MySQL). Including proper SQL usage and performance tuning.
- Extended experience in:
- Configuration and management of system platforms (preferably Unix based).
- Has experience working with customers to explain their options, review the benefits of each solution and ensure the customer's business requirements are satisfied with the design.
- Fluent in English, other European languages are an advantage.
- Good communication skills and understanding of various cultures.
- Strong analytical skills; the ability to see at both the high level view and focus on detail if required; the ability to apply technology to solve business problems.
- Determination and drive to consistently and successfully deliver according to commitment (results driven).
- Pro-active individual - able to see issues and suggest solutions before they arise.
- Experience/ability to support the setup of an overall architecture and design, code reviews, high and low level OO modelling.
