Java Developer

This position will require working as part of a small development team to solve business challenges and deliver new features for a suite of custom Intermodal applications. These applications will be used to maximize fleet utilization and profitability. The role requires a versatile developer with experience in all layers of the software stack and will be involved with all aspects of the "full system life cycle".

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Will work in a project team environment during requirements gathering, project planning, application development, and testing phases
- Will produce high quality code that follows well-defined object-oriented methodologies and conforms to coding standards
- Will work closely with the project manager to deliver enterprise grade applications using an iterative development process
- Will participate in the UI design process
- Will develop automated tests (unit, component, functional and integration testing) and participate in validation (system and acceptance testing) of applications
- Will provide required technical documentation and training

REQUIREMENTS:

- Understand object-oriented methodologies and architectural design patterns
- Experience with the full application development life cycle
- Solid written, oral and communication skills
- Must be proactive, business-savvy, and expert in the design and coding of Client Server and web-based applications using the Java language and standard libraries and technologies
- Must be comfortable working in a team environment
- Self-motivated to research, learn and apply current technology to solve business challenges
- Experience in large-scale Java application design, implementation and delivery of multi-tier systems
- Experience querying and writing to relational databases
- Experience working with version code control systems and change control processes
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Object Oriented Analysis and design
- Minimum 3 years of Java development experience
