Java Developer

The software developer will actively participate in the discussion and design of software solutions that will meet business objectives, functional and system requirements. This position requires strong knowledge of J2EE concepts and a deep familiarity of Java programming and 3rd party libraries, using multiple technologies, across all application tiers, from client to database. This person will not only assist with new development initiatives but also support existing applications.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Design, document and develop applications, prototypes, systems, utilities, screens, controls, sites and web components working under multiple browsers and platforms.
- Support and troubleshoot existing applications, providing tier 3 support as required
- Provide quality, accurate design, code development and supporting documentation.
- Participate in joint design sessions.
- Implement unit tests and other test routines.
- Work with the quality assurance team in developing and implementing test cases.
- Assist business analysts in creating wire frames and other prototyping efforts.
- Follow team design, development, coding, communication and documentation guidelines using best practices
- Provide detailed work breakdown for project tasks and accurate estimation of work effort.
- Provide design and usability expertise and guidelines.
- Provide regular progress reports.
- Some nights and weekends may be required depending on project deliverables

Skills Required:
- Java, J2EE, Hibernate, Spring, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, HTML, DHTML, XML, XLST, JAXB, JQuery, Apache Axis, Maven, Eclipse, JBoss, Apache Web Server, Oracle, PL/SQL, SQL Server, TSQL
- Web application and web services design and development.
- Asynchronous processing using SOAP able to meet strict deadlines while producing quality work in a fast paced, changing environment
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of the project
- The ability to create positive and professional business relationships with the team, including internal and external clients
- Creative and flexible

Experience/Education
- BS in Computer Science or Mathematics
- 6+ years application & database design and development experience
