Java Developer

My client is seeking a number of Java Software Engineers who will play an important role in the software engineering team on our J2EE platform hosted on the cloud. You will have worked for several years as in a Java engineering role working on large scale complex problems using a Java framework such as Spring.

The java Software Engineer will need to be very comfortable development high performance solutions with applications including J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, AdobeCQ, Hybris and Solr plus demonstrable experience of internet technologies such as HTTP, DNS, REST and SOAP.

They work in and iterative / agile cycle so you'll have experience writing robust software for large scale web applications in a fast changing environment with rapid release cycles using TDD, BDD, XP and SCRUM. You'll participating in reviews and inspections of code (sat with a peer or someone more senior reviewing your code).

MUST HAVE:
* experience of working within an software engineering team
* experience of enterprise Java software development and deployment using Spring and Hibernate to create and consume web services.
* experience of database solutions (MySQL, Oracle)
* experience of SOA and complex integration
* experience of delivering large scale client server software solutions
* experience of internet and web application security issues
* experience of developing software on Linux
* experience of troubleshooting complex problems
* experience of front end technologies (HTML5, Javascript, JQuery, CSS2/3)
* working proactively and working in a team

NICE TO HAVE:
* experience of Hybris and / or Adobe CQ5
* experience of Maven, Git, Jenkins
* experience of performance and security testing
* experience of working with enterprise solutions and large companies
* experience of database solutions (MongoDB, Percona, Redis)
* experience of programming one or more of Perl, PHP, Python, C++, Ruby, node.js and bash scripts
* exposure to nginx / apache tomcat / memcache
* exposure to mobile networks and telecoms
* exposure to Kanban and lean
* exposure to test automation of large scale systems
* exposure to Amazon Web Services (VPC, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, IAM, EC2, S3, EBS, RDS, Route53 etc).

This is a 6 months contract role to be based on site in Leeds. Only candidates who meet the above requirements need apply.
