- Solid understanding of J2EE programming fundamentals
- Proficiency with object-oriented concepts and experience applying standard design patterns
- Web application development experience using JSP, JSF, Servlet, EJB, JMS, and JDBC technologies
- Experience designing framework components for J2EE applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Problem-solving abilities and ability to meet reasonable deadlines
- Strong team player, ability to build positive and collaborative relationships
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical designs through written documentation and UML object models
- Experience working in a distributed development environment a plus
