Java Developer

Position Title: Java Developer
Type: Contract, 12 Months
Location: Birmingham, AL

Synergis is currently working with a large utility company in the Birmingham, AL area to help them locate a Software Developer.  This will be a long term contract position located at our clients' corporate headquarters. This role will be responsible for Java software development, developing new or expanded functionality for existing systems as well as providing on-going support in the Information Technology Operations department.

- BS/BA in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Science, Mathematics or related field-required
- Experience in object-oriented programming, especially in strongly-typed, dynamic languages such as Smalltalk or Ruby
- Experience in XP agile development including use of unit testing, continuous integration, and test-driven development
- Experience in using Java, JavaScript and JQuery
- Experience in software design and modelling or simulation
