Java Developer

My client a world leader in Web technology for financial trading working with the world's largest financial institutions are looking for an excellent Java Developer to join their world class development team.

This is an opportunity for an individual to take your skills to an organisation at the leading edge of web-based trading technology and with blue-chip global financial clients.

The successful Java developer will join an agile team of cross-disciplined developers, testers, and UX designers.

The main focus area will be split between the development and maintenance of server components and APIs for a feature rich browser based trading system. Additional responsibilities will include maintenance of the existing server side components and providing assistance to my client's support team in diagnosing customer issues.

The successful Java Developer will also be able to coach junior developers on the team and participate in code reviews and architecture discussions. The candidate will also be expected to provide input into improving our engineering process and introducing new ideas and technologies.

Essential Skills

- Core Java (J2SE)
- Experience of building multi-threaded, low latency performance-critical applications
- Usage of unit test and mocking frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito and JMock
- Apache Ant and Maven
- Continuous integration systems such as Go or Jenkins
- Agile teams and conversant with modern Agile practices
- Experience of working with a version control system, such as Perforce or Subversion
- Unix/Linux exposure
- A degree in computer science or similar technical subject
