Java / Business Intelligence Lead - NYC Bank - 130k Full time

My client, a major bank inNew York City, is in need of a hands-on application manager to join the bank's shared services team. The Enterprise Business Intelligence Platform Technical Lead will lead an onsite and offshore team of developers responsible for managing and enhancing the bank's shared Business Objects based reporting platform. This person will work closely with application architects, administrators and developers to support on-boarding requests, convert integration requirements into designs and to execute end-to-end on those designs by overseeing and mentoring a team of BO Administrators and JAVA Developers. To qualify for this position: * 6 - 8 years of development experience * 4+ years of experience of supporting Business Objects 3.X required. * Firm understanding of integrating Business Intelligence applications with BI tools like Business Objects, Jasper, Actuate, SSRS, etc * Experience in Object/Service Oriented and Web Services design and development using JAVA, J2EE, EJB, Servlets, JSP and XML technologies within the Financial Services industry with special concentration on * Excellent grasp of data security and privacy concerns and how to seamlessly apply integrated security solutions (entitlements, authentication, authorization) into BI frameworks * Have SOLID working knowledge of relational databases (Sybase, Oracle, SQL Server) * Proven and verifiable experience in setting BI strategy, architecting, developing and deploying self-service reporting and analytical solutions to user populations with varying degrees of sophistication is a MUST * An excellent understanding of the complete Business Objects architecture * Experience with supporting Business Objects 4.X is preferred. * Experience with UNIX, Linux and Windows is a MUST * Proficient data modeling skills with solid grasp of the various BI modeling * Have strong problem solving and analytical skills and be a quick learner * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; articulate; must be able to communicate effectively with business executives This is a senior level role and this person must have experience as both a java developer and business intelligence applications.
