Java Architect

Seeking a talented Architect to improve an existing application architecture and propose new design solutions for enhancements of a very sophisticated Java based billing application. Successful candidate must have strong experience in solution architecting/application design using Java/JEE technologies, involving extensive batch processing.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Understanding of current technical architecture/design, business, functional aspects of the system
Work closely with business/technology team to understand architecture/design implications of proposed enhancements.
Identify areas of fundamental architecture improvement areas that will have huge impact on performance/scalability
Analyze bottlenecks, improvement areas to enhance the design
Propose changes and detailed technical design for enhancements
Interact with technology teams and achieve agreement on proposed design solutions
Work closely with technical lead to assess implementation time issues and suggest modifications

SKILL, EXPERIENCE & GENERAL INFORMATION REQUIRED:

Excellent knowledge of Object Oriented Design (10+)
Extensive experience in designing and developing Java/JEE based applications (6+ years)
Experience in UI development using either JSP/Servlets/JSF.
Extensive experience in DB programming with complex schema

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

Experience in working with complex DB schemas of pricing systems is a plus
Good knowledge of Java Swing components and reverse engineering skills
Experience working in Financial domain is desired. Knowledge and experience in working with billing and pricing systems is a plus. Experience with credit reporting companies is a plus.
