Java Architect

Some travel to Denver (paid travel expenses) as needed to client site.

Will be consulting for leading global provider of commercial high-resolution earth imagery products and services. Sourced from our own satellites, our imagery solutions support a wide variety of uses within defense and intelligence, civil agencies, mapping and analysis, environmental, oil & gas exploration, infrastructure management, Internet portals and navigation technology.

Java Architect needed to assess current system code and design new/efficient architecture to retrieve data/imagery.

What you need for this position:

- 10-15 years consumer software Java development experience
- Experience with highly distributed systems, scalability, high performance computing
- Core Java experience
- Experience with .NET, XML, SQL, Ruby, and web based applications and frameworks
- Big Data experience 
- Extensive experience in designing and architecting n-tier J2EE solutions - 5 + years
- 3+ years working with large unstructured data sets
- 3+ years of software and/or data architecture experience
- Proven hands on expert knowledge of big data algorithms, tools and frameworks
- Experienced with Cassandra, Hadoop, HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, or Pig
- Hands on Java, SQL and NoSQL' tool experience
- Experience in architecting distributed, highly available, high performance, scalable solutions
- Excellent problem solving skills
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics or comparable industry experience
- Previous advertising metrics experience is a plus
