Java Applications Specialist

- CONTRACT THROUGH JUNE 30
- IMMEDIATE START
- CLOSE TO PUBLIC TRANSPORT

YOU WILL HAVE:

- Minimum of 7 years' IT industry experience, with at least 5 years focussed on Java development.
- Experience in migrating applications from OC4J to JBOSS within a complex enterprise environment will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in technical gap analysis, application design, development, testing and the preparation and maintenance of technical documentation around Java applications
- Understanding Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and web service standards.
- Exemplary Java development skills and understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) as it applies to large organisations (from applications development, testing, deployment, operational, documentation, standards, security, platforms, networking, OS, RDBMS, Middleware, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency in the following: Java/J2EE/J2ME/J2SE/JSP, common J2EE Design Patterns, EJB, JPA, Hibernate, Spring, Struts, Web Services, HTML, JDBC, XML, Oracle databases, RESTful web services, SOAP and UML.
- Experience with a variety of current Java development IDE's and JEE Application Server environments.
- Preferred experience with the core products/technologies of the client's development platform: JBOSS, Tibco ActiveMatrix Service Bus and BusinessWorks.
- Demonstrated experience in versioning, release management and deployment management using a variety of tools such as Maven, Bamboo and Subversion.
