Java Analyst Programmer

Our client a large Government agency in Brisbane is seeking a Java Developer to participate in the monitoring, maintenance, programming, development and maintenance of the Information Brokerage systems.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

- Develop and support the Department's business and corporate applications in accordance with departmental standards, guidelines and methodologies.
- Maintain an active working knowledge of best practices, emerging trends and departmental and whole of government policies and standards relating to applications development.
- Provide expert technical advice and guidance on the development, implementation and maintenance of the Information Brokerage's business applications to internal clients and stakeholders.
- Undertake a leading role in the development and maintenance of standards, procedures and user documentation which support the business applications.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with peers, clients and vendors to provide a full range of coordinated support services and meet customer service expectations.
- Contribute as a member in a team based working environment to ensure the delivery of a range of high quality IT services that meet the needs of clients.
- Encourage an environment and culture in which high quality customer service is delivered through fostering adherence to the quality system documentation and industry best practice frameworks such as ITIL, and continually seeking improvement in the way in which work is undertaken.
- Perform out-of-hours and on-call application support duties as required.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

- Demonstrated high level experience and competency in software development and support of web environments. In particular, demonstrated working knowledge and experience in the following environments, languages and technologies are:

MANDATORY: Java, J2EE, Spring

HIGHLY DESIRABLE: OpenAM, LDAP (OpenDJ), MuleSOFT, SQL, SAML, OAUTH, XML, HTML, Automation Testing (Junit, Selenium 2), Spring 3, Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTPD, Maven 2/3, Linux/Unix Operating System, Oracle, Tuxedo, C, Agile Processes, Deployment Automation
