- SOLID CORE JAVA SKILLS -  EXTENSIVE AGILE AND PAIRS-PROGRAMMING EXPERIENCE, THE TEAM ARE 95% PAIR PROGRAMMING EVERYDAY - Proven extensive project work in Pair Programming is ESSENTIAL
- PYTHON IS DESIRABLE.

Solid commercial experience of development with Java - J2SE. Object Oriented Design. RDBMS, ideally Oracle. Automated unit and acceptance testing - ideally JMock. Extensive Agile and Pairs-Programming. Previous experience of working with databases and writing SQL.

Desirables:
Python, Web development. Javascript. Linux. Hibernate. FIT.  Investment Banking highly desirable.

Role; 

The role is for a Java developer to join an established team. This a great opportunity to work in a truly agile team using the full spectrum of XP practices, including pair programming, in a fast-paced but controlled environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

- Contribute with other developers to technical analysis, design, development and automated unit and acceptance testing
- Work with business analysts to turn user stories into working and tested system increments
- Contribute to iteration planning, by providing high and low level estimates
- Maintain consistency and quality of the code, and shared understanding of the system
- Contribute to the development of the system and the process at retrospectives.
- Support the system (including out of hours support, based on rota)

The project is truly Agile with:
user stories, iterative development, frequent releases, collective ownership of the code, pair programming, TDD, automated unit and acceptance testing, etc.

The technologies used are Java, Oracle, Javascript, JMock, Hibernate & FIT. We use Python for Scripting.
