JS4997 J2EE Consultant Contract Brussels

The contract is with a consultancy to be on an assignment at a large European site in central Brussels as follows:- DESCRIPTION

Non-exhaustive list of the tasks to be carried out: Analyse the European Commission's human resource management procedures; Develop and maintain a domain model, ie a conceptual representation of the Human Resources business entities and the relationships between them; Elicite information from project stakeholders to understand their needs. Capture these needs in use cases; Prioritize needs, based on input from all stakeholders, and manage the scope of the system; Translate and organise the understanding of stakeholder needs into a clear description of the modules and features to be built. Draft vision documents. Build user interface prototypes in order to explore and/or validate the user-interface design ETC

REQUIRED EXPERTISE

- At least 6 years of specific experience in J2EE
- Ability to work with a high degree of rigour and method
- Ability to read and understand UML diagrams
- Knowledge of the Rational Unified Process is an advantage.

Due to the particular nature of a large international organisation such as the European Commission, candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:

- Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on a large project
- Ability to participate in multilingual meetings, ease of communication in French and English
- Ability to work in a team
- Ability to write documentation in French and English

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS

The work will be carried on the Commission's premises in Brussels;

The methodology used for development is based on RUP;

The case tool used for the project is Rational Analyst studio;

The tool used for database design is Oracle Designer;

The technical environment is based on a Oracle 10 RDMS and Weblogic 10 (or higher);

Idea IntelliJ or Eclipse is used as Java development environment;

Internet Explorer 8 or higher and Firefox are the web browsers;

TOAD and Oracle SQL Developer is used as development utility for Oracle;
