IT Transition & Migration Specialist

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT TRANSITION AND MIGRATION SPECIALIST to join a respected and well known GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT. In this role, you will report to the Data Centre Relocation Project Manager within the Relocation Project team to assist leading the effort in moving existing ICT application, infrastructure and operational capability from its existing environment to the newly established facilities!

YOUR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

- Developing and implementing the migration strategy, migration testing and test plans, transition planning, operational readiness of supporting teams, service management documentation, implementation, documentation, maintenance, support, monitoring and enhancement of IT infrastructure, including technologies such as:
- Server hardware - Cisco UCS B and C series, HP Proliant D, M and B series Servers;
- Network hardware including - Cisco Catalyst and Nexus, Cisco Routers, Cisco ASA and Citrix Netscalars
- Microsoft Server operating systems - Windows Server 2003, 2008 and 2008 R2, 2012;
- Storage hardware and software - SANs, storage arrays, tape libraries, archive and backup systems;
- Database Infrastructure including - Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle 10g and 11g in high availability configurations such as clustering;
- Virtualisation technologies such as Microsoft Hyper-V or VMWare vSphere and Citrix XenApp;
- Microsoft Server applications - Exchange Server 2010, SharePoint Server 2010, Dynamics CRM 2011;
- Security Products - RSA Authentication Manager, Websense, Cisco Ironport email antivirus/spam filtering;
- Management and Monitoring tools - Microsoft SCOM and SCCM 2012 and HP SIM/IC; and
- Appliances and appliance based virtualised Voice solutions supporting Cisco Call manager and Cisco Unity.
