IT Technology and Delivery Project Leader

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

I) Manage and communicate in to IT infrastructure services the impact of IT projects on the infrastructure and the operational production environment
Ensure all infrastructure domains and production impacts are properly included
Deliver the infrastructure part of the project Business Case to ensure technology and production impacts are fully defined, appropriately cost-estimated and a proper risk assessment is performed
Ensure the overall project leading role for the infrastructure and technology part of the IT projects (deliverables follow-up and sign-off, planning, dependencies, status meetings

II) Ensure compliance with system architecture standards and production operational readiness criteria
Coordinate the delivery of the high-level technical and infrastructure design, in co-ordination with the application development stakeholders by taking into account the impact of non-functional requirements (eg availability, security, capacity, scalability, recovery)
Identify technology and infrastructure impact in terms of new/changed house made frameworks, the need for new tools or system software versions
Validate high-level design with infrastructure and technical subject matter experts, engineers and architects and get their sign-off
Document and maintain the current operational production architecture (physical mapping of applications on Servers, dynamic view of transaction flows )
Define production operational readiness criteria in collaboration with Production integration and support services
Assess and document the impacts of the IT project on the architecture.
Validate compliance with production operational readiness criteria in collaboration with Production integration and support services

III) Optimize Total Cost of Ownership for infrastructure changes
Identify the optimal cost/efficient IT infrastructure to be implemented by the projects, meeting the longer-term IT infrastructure cost reduction strategies. Define the initial project budget, evaluate the infrastructure investment and the operational expenditure impacts of various design options and project decisions.
Follow-up regularly the project execution to ensure project benefits for running cost reductions are tracked, achieved, and report changing conditions or assumptions.

SKILLS:

The candidate will have a strong practical experience in project/programme leading, as well a good overall technical expertise in a complex high-end IT environment involving almost all existing platforms (Mainframe, Unix, Linux, Windows, VMWare,) and advanced networking and storage infrastructure). You are able to plan, control and monitor infrastructure project definition and execution. This includes managing the scope, the budget, the scheduling of activities, the quality of the deliverables, the risks and issues that the project could encounter. You are comfortable in managing teams and relationships with various divisions, entities and service partners.
