IT Systems Engineer

My client based in Leicester provides IT solutions to government functions globally. They are looking for an IT systems engineer who will provide 2nd and 3rd line support and maintain live and test infrastructures, enabling the company to provide their IT solutions worldwide.

You'll be supporting a number of contracts with government organisations from Europe to Australia.

You will provide support, development and administration for server based Systems, including AD, Group Policy, DNS, Microsoft Exchange Server and Virtualization systems from both Microsoft and VMWare. You'll have proven experience of support, development and administration for these server based Systems. In the event of a new installation, you will travel to the site and engage as part of the rollout team.

You'll also support and administer security systems (Internet Filtering, Remote Access), networking systems including edge and Core switches, WAN Routers and Wireless networking systems. Good knowledge of netwokring will therefor be advantageous. As a member of the 3rd Line Infrastructure team you'll work closely with the 1st and 2nd line members of the IT Helpdesk assisting with and owning escalated support tickets to resolution as well as helping develop the skills with the IT Helpdesk Team.

A salary of up to £35k + benefits is on offer.
